Where does the time go??

Hi all! If you’re still stopping by, THANK YOU! I know it’s been far too long since I’ve updated this site. I fell into the easy trap of using Facebook for posting all my photo shoots, but need to get back to using this site as well. I’ll catch you up soon, but wanted to say hi and let you know I’m still here and still shooting! I’ve got some mini shoots coming up soon, so keep an eye out for details on that. With Fall weather already here and the holidays fast approaching, I’m excited to line up some fun shoots with new clients and old!

I’ll be back soon to update the blog a bit, but here are a few shots from our beach vacation this past week. The girls are huge, I know. Ada is 3 and a half now, and Harper will be 2 this December. Crazy!!

Holiday Mini Shoots!

I know it’s been a while. I’ve got some serious blog catching up to do. If you follow me on Facebook, though, you’ve seen all my more recent shoots! The photos look so much bigger and better here, though, so I’ll do some catching up soon.

For now, though, I wanted to let every one know about the mini shoots I’ll be offering on Saturday November 5th! It’s a great opportunity to get some quick photos to use for holiday cards, prints, gifts, etc. Some of you may still prefer to book a regular shoot so that you have lots more time and more photos, and that’s no problem! I encourage you to book ASAP if you want photos in time for the holidays! For those of you looking for something shorter and simpler, the mini shoots may be a good fit. Check out the details and book a slot ASAP.

Kevin and Lauren’s Wedding

Hello blog friends! Looks like I still need to blog some shoots I’ve had this Spring, but first I want to start off with the beautiful wedding I shot this past Saturday. I typically try to keep my blog posts on the shorter side and only showcase a handful of favorite photos, but now that I’m only taking on a few weddings each year, I thought I’d share a little more from these special days.

You may remember Kevin and Lauren from their engagement shoot down at the beach. I had a great time with these guys and loved hearing about all the great wedding day plans they had in store.  I had no doubt that their big day would be amazing… and it most certainly was. We started off at the bed & breakfast where the wedding party was getting ready.

We weren’t able to squeeze in an actual bridal shoot before the big day, but we did take some time before the wedding to get some pretty shots of just Lauren… isn’t she stunning!?

There were so many special moments and sweet details throughout the day, and this was one of my favorites. This is a necklace that Kevin and Lauren were presenting Lauren’s son Peyden with during their ceremony. They are now a family of three, and this necklace represents just that.

Love this shot of Lauren reading a perfectly hand-written letter from Kevin (all three pages of it)…

They didn’t want to see each other before the wedding, but they did exchange gifts and a few sweet moments around the door…

We also got in some shots of the guys and girls before heading out…

Then we were off to the marina for the ceremony and reception…

How great are all these details!? Kevin and Lauren made every single pinwheel (over 200 of them I believe!) for the big day, and they came out perfectly!

Wow…

And here comes that beautiful bride…

Another beautiful moment…. as Lauren read her letter to Peyden, and they gave him that sweet necklace. Peyden held her hand and listened to every word, his eyes filling up with tears. So sweet, and almost made ME cry!

No ceremony’s complete without a great kiss. Well done, Kevin!

While Lauren’s mom may not have been there in person, she was most certainly there in spirit. There were symbols of her throughout the day, and I know that she must be so proud of her daughter, grandson and new son-in-law. If her mother was anything like Lauren, I’m sure she was nothing short of amazing.

What a fun wedding party! And brave too… thanks for going out there on that rocking dock for me guys!

And my favorite part of the day…

Adorable, aren’t they?

Reception time!

Congratulations you guys! I’m so happy for you, and honored to be a part of your special day.

Wedding Albums

Happy Spring every one! Now that I’m caught up on blogging my most recent work, I wanted to share a little more information about the wedding albums I offer. I’ve had a handful of wedding clients order these already, and let me just say… THEY ARE GORGEOUS! If you’re interesting in booking me for your wedding, I would definitely recommend these albums. I keep these options a la carte for those who are interested, but I’m so excited when folks decide to display their favorite wedding day images this way.

So how does it work? Well, after the big day I’ll have you go through your online gallery of photos and choose a certain number of favorites for me to work with. I may suggest a few here and there, but this is mostly up to you (unless of course you want me to do all the picking)! I go through and begin a custom design for you of each page/spread (a “spread” is two pages side by side). I keep these designs clean and simple, so that the images we use are showcased beautifully. Once I’ve completed the design and gotten your thumbs up, I send the order to the album folks at KISS wedding books who do their magic. A few weeks later, a gorgeous album arrives.

The albums are leather-bound with thick, lay-flat pages that won’t bend or rip, and each image is printed directly onto the page. None of those traditional albums with frames to slide your photos into. I order most albums in 10×10 size, but an 8×8 or 12×12 is also available if you like. Each album includes 20 pages (or 10 spreads), but again we can customize this if necessary. There are also several colors of leather from you to choose from! I plan to offer parent albums this year as well, which are simpler, linen-bound albums that will make great gifts for Mom and Dad.

Happy to answer any other questions you have about them, but for now, how about some photos, starting with a few from Ashley and Jeremy’s wedding…

See that pretty leather and nice, thick pages!

And here’s Melissa and Danny’s album that I just did… they went with brown for theirs.

Opening spread, featuring the sign that Melissa’s grandfather made for the big day…

Love this spread, and I’m sure I’ll think of these guys any time I run across a purple lantern!

Sleek, simple, and so so elegant…

The end…

Check out that fabric slipcover… every album comes in one! The fabric is always a surprise, and always gorgeous.

Another favorite spread of mine… this one’s from Audrey and Bradley’s wedding…

So there you have it. Excited to whip up some more wedding albums this year! I’m also thinking it could be an awesome way to document your baby’s first year. Ahhh, the ideas!

Anna and Hinton

I met up with Anna and Hinton a couple weeks ago for their engagement shoot. We chose Meredith College, since that’s where Anna went to school… not to mention how pretty it is there! I can’t believe the wedding is just a little over a month away. So exciting! For now, here are some favorites from their engagement shoot…

We sure picked a gorgeous day for it!

Love the sweet feeling of this one…

Isn’t Anna’s ring gorgeous? Her Meredith ring on the other hand is pretty awesome too.

Favorite of the day right here…

These next two are right outside the building where Anna once lived. Hinton had to wait outside here for her on more than one occasion…

So sweet…

Can’t wait for the wedding next month… yay!!
